The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its twelfth annual Back-to-School Breakfast on Friday, August 17th at 7:30 a.m. The event took place at the First United Methodist Church. The breakfast provided business leaders with an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of area schools and show support to principals, teachers, and leaders as they make preparations for another school year.
During this event, the Chamber Director, Carolyn Carpenter thanked all the teachers and staff members for attending the breakfast. The Honorable Mayor Richard Long, Mr. Woodie Pugh, Superintendent of Education and Mr. Marty Parker with the Clarke County Board of Education were the speakers for this event. Everyone was served a pancake breakfast, which was prepared by the United Methodist Men, with pastries, fruit, coffee and orange juice. Teachers and staff members received goody bags with school supplies and door prizes which was made possible through our sponsors and businesses. A big "Thank You", to all and a special thanks to the members of the City Council and our Board of Directors of the Chamber.
We look forward to another successful school year and your continued support.
