The 11th Annual Back-to-School Breakfast

“The Jackson area is blessed to have such dedicated educators and staff. Each day you are presented with a different challenge. Your task is not an easy one. You strive to mold the minds of our youth in order that they become productive citizens. On behalf of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and our business community, thank you for what you do,” said Chamber Director, LaShaunda Holly.

Thirty Bronze level sponsors and forty-nine businesses provided classroom/school supplies, breakfast, over sixty door prizes and goody bags for all of the attendees. The bronze sponsors included Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church, Andrews Funeral Home, Mac’s Drugs, Walmart, Woodmen of the World, Lil’ Touch of Cajun Grill, Boise, Clarke County People First, Dr. Beard Dentistry, First United Security Bank, K-Lene NAPA Auto Parts, Amstar EMS, Alpha Pregnancy Testing Center, Clarke County Arc., Sonic, The South Alabamian, Alabama Power, PowerSouth, Regions, Health Actions, Clarke-Washington Electric, Nolasco’s, State Farm-John Brown, Harrison & Harrison Insurance & Realty, Pete’s Septic Tank, Backhoe & Dozier Services, LLC, Brooks Motors, Merchants Bank, Capstone Bank, State Farm-Nick Waugh, Jackson Middle School and Clarke-Mobile Gas.

“Without the support of our business community, this event would not be possible. We appreciate the Pine City Ambassadors, White Smith Memorial Library staff, Clarke County Department of Human Resources staff, and board members for assisting with set-up and clean-up efforts. Thanks to Aaron’s Sales and Lease, Dollar Tree and Walmart for partnering with us on the Fill the Pools for Schools project. A special thank you goes to the United Methodist men for cooking such a delicious breakfast. We appreciate everyone’s continued support and look forward to partnering with you again next year,” said Chamber Director, LaShaunda Holly.

Held at the First United Methodist Church on August 12th, the event is the largest of its kind in the Jackson area. More than 200 teachers and school personnel from Jackson and Leroy were in attendance. The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce presented the principals of Joe M. Gillmore, Jackson Intermediate, Jackson Middle, Jackson High, Jackson Academy and Leroy High School with classroom/school supplies for their teachers and students.
