The annual Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce’s Back-to-School Breakfast was the official kickoff of the school year. It was a time of recognition dedicated to the Jackson area’s finest individuals- our teachers.
“The Jackson area is blessed to have such dedicated educators and staff. Each day you are presented with a different challenge. Your task is not an easy one. You strive to mold the minds of our youth in order that they become productive citizens. On behalf of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and our business community, thank you for what you do,” said Chamber Director, LaShaunda Holly.
Seventeen Bronze level sponsors and 56 businesses helped provide breakfast, door prizes and goody bags for all of the attendees. The bronze sponsors included Aarons Sales and Lease, Alpha Pregnancy Testing Center, Andrews Funeral Home, Boise Paper, Capstone Bank, Clarke-Washington Electric, Dr. Stanley Beard, Health Actions Physical Therapy & Wellness, Jackson Middle School, K-Lene NAPA Auto Parts, Mac’s Drugs, Pine City Bakery & Deli, Scotch Gulf Lumber, Power South, Sonic, State Farm-John Brown and State Farm-Nick Waugh.
“Without the support of our business community, this event would not be possible. Thanks also to the Pine City Ambassadors, White Smith Memorial Library, Public Works Department, Clarke County Department of Human Resources volunteers, and the First United Methodist Church volunteers for assisting with our set-up and clean-up efforts. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to partnering with you again next year,” said Chamber Director, LaShaunda Holly.
Held at the First United Methodist Church on August 9th, the event is the largest of its kind in the Jackson area. More than 200 teachers and school personnel from Jackson and Leroy were in attendance.
