Fall Festival a Success

On Saturday, November 7th, the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its 27th Annual Fall Festival. Our goal for this year’s event was to increase attendance and to make it our biggest and best Fall Festival ever!

This year’s event attracted thousands of spectators to the Jackson area who in turn brought added revenue to our city. Downtown Jackson was filled with live entertainment, over sixty Market in the Street vendors, over twenty food vendors, the Third Annual Clarke-Mobile Gas Chili Cook-Off, over 100 participants in the Bob Smith Memorial Antique Auto Show, over ten Motorcycle Show enthusiasts, several lumberjack competitors and well over 500 children showed for the Kid’s Games.

Jackson’s local businesses make Fall Festival possible through their financial support. Without the sponsorship of our member businesses, the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce would not be able to organize an event of this magnitude. Special thanks to our Chili Cook-Off sponsor Clarke-Mobile Gas, Antique Auto Show Sponsor Aaron’s, Entertainment Sponsor New Era Cap Company, Hospitality Area Sponsor Brooks Chevrolet and Lumberjack Competition Sponsor Scotch & Gulf Lumber Company.

Special thanks to our Gold Sponsors Boise and AT&T. Silver Sponsors Clarke-Washington Electric, Olin, Capstone Bank and Walmart. Bronze Sponsors Jacqualyn S. Bradley, Attorney, Merchants Bank, Acceptance Loan Company, McCorquodale & McCorquodale, Smith Jewelers, The South Alabamian, Harrison & Harrison, Premier Medical Eye Group, Mac’s Drugs, Allied Credit Union, Jackson ACE Hardware, Coca Cola, McDonalds, State Farm-John Brown, The Meadows of Jackson, First United Security Bank, Skipper Insurance & Realty, Tim James 2010, Inc., and HealthActions.

Logistically we could not have gone without the Public Works Department and the Jackson Police Department. We appreciate their continued support before, during and after the Fall Festival. We appreciate Mayor Long and our city council for their continued support as well.

I would like to extend a warm thank you to the following individuals, families and organizations for their partnership, hard work and dedication in ensuring that our event was successful: Chamber’s Board of Directors, Pine City Ambassadors, Solid Rock Christian School’s Beta Club, Jackson High School’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Brenda Cannon, Smith Family, Slayton Family, The South Alabamian, Clarke County Democrat, The Thomasville Times, The Call News, Brian Raybon, Gillmore Elementary School, Jackson Intermediate School, Jackson Academy, Express Signs, Trisha’s Wedding & Party Rental and Master Graphics.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day to host such a wonderful family fun event. We are confident that all visitors experienced what makes Jackson so unique. We are a place where people matter and a community where people grow together.

Respectfully,
LaShaunda Holly
