About the Project
The City of Jackson set aside nine acres of land behind the North Jackson Softball Fields for a new park. The city will provide property and liability insurance for the park.
Leathers & Associates met with local school children and using input from the children, put together the playground design (Figure 1 above - click for larger view). The playground has separate play areas, one for the older children and one for the "tots".
The project also includes a pavilion, walking trails, a dancing fountain and bathrooms.
The pavilion will provide space for birthday parties or other events. Grills will also be scattered around the pavilion.
Pet-friendly walking trails will be a place for the whole family to have fun while getting exercise.
A dancing fountain will be a great way to stay cool in the summer.
Bathrooms will be located conveniently inside the park. Outside showers will be available to clean up children when necessary.
The park will be built by volunteers from our community. |

The Pine City Park Committee has begun fundraising efforts. Our park design is complete, and we are now seeking sponsors for the various parts of the playground. Please click here to view a list of items that are available for sponsorship. The fire truck and fire station as well as the rings have already been sponsored. All other items are available. In the near future, you will be approached by a committee member to assess your interest in becoming a benefactor of the park. Should you decide to sponsor a piece of the playground, we will place a plaque with your business name on the item that you sponsor.
Routed Park Pickets are available for $25 (up to 17 alphabet letters, .30 per additional letter). These pickets will go around the Tot Lot area of the new playground. There will be approximately 800 pickets in this area.
Please click to view and print the Picket Order Form.
Park T-Shirts are also available for order to help raise funds for our new park. T-Shirts are $12 each, please see the T-Shirt Order Form here.
