The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas Parade on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. The theme is "All I Want for Christmas is...". The entry fee of $25. Checks should be made payable to the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce. To pre-register go by the Chamber office or call (251) 246-3251.
There are four categories being judged are:
- Clubs and Non-Profit Organizations- cash prizes of $200, $150 and $100 will be awarded to the best floats.
- Businesses and Industries- 1st, 2nd and 3rd place plaques will be awarded.
- Bands - Cash prizes of $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, and $150 for 3rd place will be awarded!
- Other marching groups- 1st and 2nd place plaques will be awarded.
The judges will be at the First United Methodist Church. The judges will make their final decision at this point. Performances should be brief in order to prevent gaps in the parade.
The parade will begin at the four-way stop at Commerce and Broad St. and disband at Joe M. Gillmore Elementary School. We ask that you not throw any candy or other items until you turn the corner at the red light on Commerce and Broad St.
Line-up for the Christmas Parade:
- Line-Up - will begin at 3:30 p.m. downtown.
- Floats - will position at the four way-stop at Forest Ave. and West Church St.
- Marching Groups and Bands - will stage in the parking lot at City Hall.
- Horses - will stage in the parking lot beside A-1 Cleaners on Carrol Street.
The winners of the parade will be announced via the local media the week following the parade. Prize money and trophies may be picked up at the Chamber during office hours the week following the parade.

Band Invitation
The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas Parade on Friday, December 4th, at 5:00 p.m. The theme is "All I Want for Christmas is..." The entry fee is $25. Checks should be made payable to the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce.
We look forward to your band participating. All bands must pre-register by contacting the Chamber office at 251-246-3251 so line-up may be determined. All dance groups should remove any derogatory dance moves from their performances.
In this special category the prizes are as follows:
- 1st place Band- $500
- 2nd place Band- $250
- 3rd place Band- $150
