The Christmas Promotion Committee of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce would like to encourage everyone to do their holiday shopping in Jackson rather than in some other city or by mail-order catalog. Your sales tax dollars create many services in your city and area. It makes good sense to spend those sales tax dollars here where they will benefit you the most.
During the Holiday season, several events and activities are being planned to help participating businesses meet the needs of the Jackson area shoppers.
Some of the events being planned include:
- City-wide Christmas Open House
- Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
- Christmas parade / extended shopping hour (Thursday, December 10th at 5 PM)
- First United Methodist Church's Step Sing
- Home & Business Holiday Lighting Contest
- Parade of Homes
On the night of the Christmas parade, we are asking local merchants to have Extended Shopping Hours from 5-8 PM. Businesses interested in running retail specials the day or night of the parade are asked to contact the Chamber office to inform us of your participation.
If your business / club / organization will be hosting a Christmas season event, please contact the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce so that we can include it in our Calendar of Events. Details on the events mentioned above will be given at a later date.
