Are you one of those who enjoy decorating your home or business for the Holiday Season? If so, why not sign-up and become a participant in the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce's Home and Business Lighting Contest.
Rules
In order for decorations to be judged, all residential and business addresses must be registered with the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce office. All entries must be in the city limits. Registration forms can be picked up at the Chamber office.
The judging panel will view these addresses only.
Judging guidelines:
- The effectiveness of the lights in creating the display.
- The placement and uniformity of lights. (A very simple display that is neatly done would rate highly).
- The use of design/color to create the decorations.
- The use of special lighted displays.
- The ingenuity and creativeness exercised in the decorations.
The judging panel will use a score from one to ten in each of the above areas. (10 the greater score) These scores will then be tallied for the winning displays.
Prizes will be awarded for business and residential winners. Results will be announced via the local media the week following the contest.
